How to turn on kiosk mode on your iPad with the Guided Access

Valid for iPadOS 13.0 and higher

The "Mirror Display Auto-Lock" function is not supported in the new iPadOS version anymore. Please, set the "Display Auto-Lock" function to "Never".

Set up Guided Access on iPad

Tab Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access

  • Turn Guided Access on.

  • Set a passcode that controls the use of Guided Access and prevents someone from leaving an active session.

  • Set the Display Auto-Lock function to Never.

Start a Guided Access session

To start a Guided Access session:

  1. Open MeetingRoomApp.

  2. Triple-click on the Home button.

  3. Adjust settings for the session.

  4. Click on Start.

End a Guided Access session

  1. Triple-click on the Home button.

  2. Enter the Guided Access passcode.

iOS 12.4.2 and lower

In iOS 12.1.1, Apple has added a new setting under Guided Access Mode called Mirror Display Auto-Lock. When it is turned on, Guided Access Mode will obey the setting in Display & Brightness. When off, the screen will turn off after 20 minutes of inactivity.
